Children
Terri Meyer – Spark Kids Children’s Ministries Director
We at the Wimauma Community Church of God do not consider Children’s Ministries as a childcare for parents while they are in church. It is much more than that. We have two main departments that meet together during the morning worship time. The classes are developed on the child’s level of understanding.
The Sparks Kids, ages 1st grade to 5th grade, and the Spark Kids Junior ages 3-5 years old, meet together and have the opportunity to worship with Biblical training that plants seeds of faith in Christ in their lives. It is at this early age that they gain knowledge and understanding of God that will last a lifetime. It is our goal to develop God-centered children that will grow up to be men and women of faith.
The Spark Kids Ember, newborn to 2 years old, meet in the nursery room each Sunday morning. This is not just a babysitter venue. The nursery leaders have a curriculum that was specifically designed to minister to the babies and toddlers in the church. We know that children are never too young to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.” Matthew 19:14
Plugged-in Youth
The Plugged-in Youth Group, ages 6th to 12th grade, meets every Wednesday night in the fellowship hall. From 6:00-7:00 p.m is fun time, with games and interaction. From 7:00-8:00 pm is time spent in the Word of God.. It is during this time together that the youth are focused on discipleship and learning to grow in the Lord. On Sunday mornings, the youth gather together in the sanctuary and participate in worship and praise.
